About Us

pagter bros together

Pagter Brothers Wines, (formerly the award-winning B&P), is known as a small boutique winery in Valencia, CA. Pagter Brothers Wines sources our grapes from select vineyards in Paso Robles and Santa Barbara Counties. We specialize in big, bold reds. Brothers Scott and Gib formed the winery in 2013. After 18 months in oak barrels, our first vintage will be available in early 2015, starting with a Santa Ynez Syrah and a Pinot Noir from Paso Robles. Our 2014 grapes are sleeping in the barrels now. We have the Whitehawk Syrah and two Westside Paso Robles varietals (from the highly touted new Willow Creek AVA), a Grenache and a Tempranillo.

We are very excited about the future and can’t wait for you to joing us in sampling some of California’s finest wines, made by artisans who care!

Scott Page Pagter

Scott has been in the entertainment business his whole life. First, he is a musician and composer. He has done music for many films and TV shows and now writes music for toys and commercials. He also was a TV producer, usually in charge of voices, direction, casting and writing. It takes a lot of wine to be creative, so Scott took this job seriously and “researched” a lot of wine over the years. He began making wine in 2007 and found out that quite a few of his musical and actor friends were involved in the wine biz as well. When Scott asked Mike Grgich, many, many years ago, why Grgich Hills wines were so good, Mr. Grgich told him “it’s all about the grapes”. Scott always kept that in mind and has been on a search for the perfect grapes ever since. He thinks he’s found a few choice spots in Santa Ynez and Paso Robles. Since he and Gib began their winery in 2013, Pagter Brothers Winery has expanded slowly and plans to continue to make only small batches of completely hand-crafted, top notch wines. Please enjoy them with us!

Ralph Gibson “Gib” Pagter, Jr.

Gib is a wine lover from way back. As an attorney, he often has to research wine with his fellow attorneys. It takes a lot of wine to preserve the law of the land apparently, and he takes this job seriously as well. Gib and Scott have taken many a voyage, locally and abroad, to research great wine areas and when the opportunity arose for them to start their own winery they leaped in together. Pagter Brothers Winery will begin pouring at exclusive events and wine club parties in March 2015, and can’t wait to have you give us a try!
